I’m _________________and here are your morning announcements for Monday May 29th, 2023. 

*The announcements posted today reflect those which were read this morning. Please be aware that changes could occur during the day (cancellations, etc.) and we might not be able to amend them.  

First Half- Yellow, Green, Black and White classrooms will report to cafeteria during the first half of lunch. The grade level groups from blue, purple, red and orange teams will report to target locations using the Courtenay Bay Doors   

Second Half- blue, purple, red and orange will report to cafeteria and grade level groups from Yellow, Green, Black and White will be in their assigned areas using the back doors near the gym. 

Target Locations: This week the grade 8 groups will report to the courtyard, grade 6 groups will report to the field and grade 7 groups will report to the gym. 

Rotation Flow Chart: Gym --> Courtyard --> Field --> Gym 

Our grade 7 classes will be eating in their homerooms during their designated eating time this weekStaff, please follow the duty rotation sent out. 

Just a reminder if you have forgotten or need lunch, we have free lunches served from the library every day. Please go to the library at the beginning of your eating time to pick up your lunch.  

 

Clubs & Activities: Only announce today and tomorrow’s clubs  

TALENT SHOW  - Auditions are TOMORROW May 30 after school from 3-5. Meet in the music room!  

Monday 

  • Dungeons & Dragons Club: We will meet in Mr. Carpenter’s room 114. Don’t forget to bring your lunch. 

  • Animation club is today  

  • Band – Trumpets Today at lunch  

  • Gardening club today in room 312. New members welcome!  

  • GSA will be hosting a Rainbow Day on Thursday to mark the beginning of Pride month. Wear as many colours of the rainbow as you can. Skittles will also be sold for $2/bag in Mrs. Shannon’s room at lunch.  

 

Tuesday 

  • GIRL TALK is in Room 335 today during the first half of lunch with Ms. Nickerson. This group is for Grade 8 girls who want to join a community of girls who support girls. 

  • Activities Club Over for the year. 

  • Sports Club: Today in Mr Walls’ Room 309 both halves of lunch. You must come at the start of lunch to be permitted to join. 

  • Band- Woodwinds, Baritone and Bass sectional 

  • Fitness Club – only second half of lunch today 

  • Garden club members, please remember to water your trays.

Wednesday 

  • 3D Print Club – In Mme Hickey’s roomUse your 3D design skills to cut and engrave using the glowforge machine. Bring your lunch and come check it out! 

  • Renaissance Team: will be meeting in room 130 (Mme. Ferrar’s room) during the second half of lunch today.  

  • Art Club will meet today in the Art Room.  

  • Choir – practice  at lunch 

  • Band – Full Band Rehearsal after school 

  • Garden club members, please remember to water your trays.

Thursday 

  • GSA – We will meet in the auditorium at lunch. Bring your lunch and stay for the hour.

Friday 

  • (Friday, May 19th) If you are interested in being on the Grade 8 Moving Up Dance Decorating Committee, please meet today in Ms. Nickerson’s room, Room 335, during the first half of lunch. All grades and staff are welcome to attend. 

  • Drama Club: Today only for those performing in the Night of the Arts on June 8th. 

  • Tech Crew – meet in the music room at lunch 

  • The computer lab will be open  

  • Garden club members, please remember to water your trays. 

Additional Activity Notices:  

Gr 8 students, please make sure your caregivers have made payments on School Cash Online for the activities planned for June. 

BAYSIDE ATHLETICS: 

Volleyball:  

All Volley Ball team members, please return jersey to the gym ASAP. 

JV Girls: Please meet Ms. Hills at the gym tomorrow, Tuesday, May 30th at 9:30 for a short meeting. 



Co-Ed Flag football: 

Congratulations to the team on a fantastic effort at the Fundy Minor regional flag football tournament in Saint John. We were defeated in our first two games, but came back strong to narrowly miss out on the semi-finals. Thank you to our cheerleaders for coming out to encourage us. The coaches are proud of the team and impressed with your dedication, Broncos! 

Please return your uniforms to Mme Burkett or Ms Hills this week. 


Track & Field : 

1200m – tryouts meet Mr. Jeffrey in the lobby of the gym at second half of lunch today, Monday, May 29th and first half of lunch tomorrow, Tuesday. 

4 x 100m Relay today, Monday, May 29th at 11:45 and any 100, 200, 400, and 800m runners who haven’t run yet. Last chance. 

High Jump will be held Tuesday, May 30th at 11:45.
